It was with great pride that we were invited to SAP Global Partner Summit, SAP SAPPHIRE NOW and the ASUG Annual Conference as one of the leading SAP Business One partners in North America. This week in Orlando, we had great meetings with SAP executives, learning experiences, and great networking with partners and customers.

Conferences are supposed to inspire and educate, and the SAP annual meetings were successful in both aspects. SAP continuously demonstrates thought leadership and the willingness to make the investments to bring leading products to market. During the event, we heard three clear themes that build on each other to provide a coherent strategy:

  1. Artificial intelligence will be powered by big data and applications that can make sense from the ever-growing mountain of data.
  2. The cloud will provide access to the data and the computing power necessary to turn data into insight for action.
  3. SAP Live was the term used for real-time access to the insights you need for competitive advantage.

SAP leonardo.jpgSAP Live was everywhere in the Orlando Convention Center. Not only were there numerous demonstration pods for experiencing the advances SAP has recently made, but much of the content was streamed live on Facebook. The big announcement was Leonardo, which is SAP’s tool for artificial intelligence. This tool, which will first appear in the IT departments of SAP’s largest enterprise clients, has the potential for being a game changer as it evolves, matures, and learns how to be used throughout the SAP client portfolio.

It was also enlightening to see SAP building its technology to a more open approach. For example, Google and SAP are working together so SAP’s big data can run in the public Google environment as a service. In a more open approach, SAP is integrating its ERP applications with social media to engage customers and prospects in conversation and understand their sentiment.

Powered by the powerful and scalable SAP HANA database, SAP is moving even faster into the cloud. In its latest release of SAP Business One (B1), there are further enhancements to core functionality as well as the Cloud Control Center. Furthermore, B1 is now integrated with other SAP Cloud services such as Concur through the B1 Integration Framework for cloud-to-cloud integrations.
