After a 1-year break where Sage focused on small regional events, Sage Summit is back! In 2019 Sage plans to hold 2 events; Sage Summit West will take place in San Diego from Feb. 13-15 and Sage Summit East will take place in Atlanta from May 13-15. With the goal of two events being the reduction of travel time and costs, the two Summits will likely be duplicates so most customers and partners will need only attend the one most convenient for them.
Last year’s “Session” events were primarily cross selling events for the various Sage products that round out the core ERP solutions with additional sessions and showcases for Sage Endorsed solutions. A major change to Sage Summit 2019 is that the content will be focused on Sage 100 and Sage 300 products. There will be separate events for Sage enterprise-level products and Sage Construction and Real Estate products. This is a welcome change for the Sage CRE 300 customers, who use the product formerly known as Timberline, who had a very robust user conference and felt Summit was a watered-down version of their former show.
On the whole, this seems to be an excellent plan from Sage which creates greater focus at the events as well as creates more convenience for customers and partners. Of course, I-BN plans to attend both shows to showcase the I-BN Cloud 3.0 offering for Sage. Built new from ground up, the Cloud 3.0 architecture includes:
- Microsoft Office 365 licensing for enhanced integration with Sage Office
- Microsoft Azure AD integration for single sign on
- New password self service
- The highest security rating from SSL labs
